Run to the hills
When it is hot, you naturally go somewhere where it is cooler. The logic is inescapable, so we headed to the hills. The pretty little hill town of De Lat. Not so much to do, but what the hell it's cool. Not every town needs big sights. It does have a cute almost fantastical hotel / building which the architect and owner has been building for the last 10 years. The locals call it 'The crazy house' which to a certain extent it is. For your $1 entrance fee you can wander through spiders webs and up trees to kangaroo rooms and eaglelares. It was very cute - although not sure we would want to sleep there.
Even though the town is in the hills it was still rather hot so too cool down we decided to abseil down some waterfalls. Not entirely sure how that happened (and for some reason our right legs wouldn't let us forget about it for days after as we limped from place to place) but it was so much fun (more so after doing it rather then when you first lean backwards over the edge). We eased ourselves in with 10m abseil down the cliff. Once the shaking stopped we went for a 20m cliff ending up in the river, then the big one - 25m abseil down the waterfall, trying not to slip while the water was hitting us in the face. Ohhh what a rush. We also did some natural water slides down the rapids and a jump into a waterfall. We loved every minute of it.
